Mark Burch Motorsports Places Second at Mid-Nebraska Speedway

Inside Line Promotions - DONIPHAN, Neb. (Aug. 20, 2013) - Mark Burch Motorsports and Danny Lasoski put together another podium performance on Saturday at Mid-Nebraska Speedway.

"It's a really, really nice speedway," Lasoski said. "It's the first time I've been there. If the track would take those infield tires and move them to the guard rail it'd probably one of the best in the country."

The Mark Burch Motorsports entry started eighth in a heat race at the fast, 3/8-mile track for the NCRA and Nebraska 360 Sprints co-sanctioned event. Lasoski maneuvered to a third-place finish, which put the team eighth in points overall. The feature was started straight up, putting Lasoski on the outside of the fourth row.

"It was tough to get through them," he said. "With Jack Dover and Don Droud Jr. on the front row, I knew we had to get there quick. I immediately got to third and with Jack breaking that put us in second."

Lasoski powered from eighth to third place on the opening lap and he inherited the runner-up position on the ensuing lap when Dover brought out a caution while leading. Lasoski then chased Droud Jr. for several laps before taking the lead on a restart only to see the caution come out.

"I passed him on the restart and the caution came out again," he said. "As a good race car driver would do, he blocked me. There was no passing after that. When rubber's down you only get one shot at it."

Lasoski finished a close second to earn his seventh top-five finish with Mark Burch Motorsports this season.

"I'm not very happy with second, but it was a pleasure to drive Mark's car," Lasoski said. "He never ceases to amaze me."

Lasoski and Mark Burch Motorsports are scheduled to compete at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday.
