YORK HAVEN, Pa.: BAPS Motor Speedway, in partnership with Mike Gallagher and Fusion Financial Group at Thrivent, are thrilled to host families with kids at the Fourth Annual Backpacking at BAPS Night which took place on Sunday June 29 during Pennsylvania Speedweek. During that event several drives, volunteers and fans stuff nearly 300 bookbags to be used at Newberrytown Elementary.
Mike Gallagher and his team at Thrivent share in our passion to inspire kids to dream big! Whether as a race car driver, a business owner, or in any other field, we believe learning is essential. By supporting educational initiatives, we aim to show the kids that our racing community is committed to their success.
Thanks to our partnership with Mike Gallagher and Fusion Financial Group at Thrivent, Kolten Gouse and his team have organized the Fourth Annual Backpacking at BAPS and as well as Back to school night. This year’s Backpacking at BAPS program will once again benefit all kids attending Newberry Elementary School. The three hundred plus backpacks were delivered to Newberry Elementary School for students to receive on Day 1 of fall classes.
According to General Manager Kolten Gouse, every student at the school will receive a book bag filled with supplies for the 2025-2026 school year.
“We understand the importance school has on the kids of our community,” Gouse said. “We are thrilled to work with Mike & his team as we try to make a difference in the lives of these kids and their families.”
BAPS Motor Speedway is dedicated to fostering community spirit. We have been actively involved in numerous events, including the York Revolution Bilingual Motorsports Night, Newberry Elementary Racing into Reading, and Reading Quests at the Red Land Library. This commitment to community outreach is at the heart of everything we do, and the Fourth Annual Backpacking at BAPS Night was a huge success.
