Macri Dominates Night 1 Of Tuscarora 50 Weekend; Sweigart Holds On to Win Feature and 305 Track Title

Port Royal, PA -- Anthony Macri has the most wins at Port Royal Speedway in 2025 in 410 sprint car competition. He won one of the sport's crown jewels at Eldora Speedway on July 19th in the King's Royal. He hadn't won at Port Royal Speedway since that big win, but on Thursday night, Macri would get back to Port Royal Speedway victory lane in dominating fashion against the drivers from Kubota High Limit Racing.

Brenham Crouch and Anthony Macri would compose the front row of the 25 lap A-main event with Macri taking the early advantage.

Crouch would fall behind Macri and follow closely over the next 8 laps before the one and only caution of the race would come out for Brock Zearfoss who had stopped in turn four.

Zearfoss, who picked up a feature win last time in competition at Port Royal Speedway, would come to the work area for a shredded right rear tire to be changed, and then would return to the field.

With the field reset, Macri again would jump out to the race lead, with Justin Whittall getting into the mix for the runner up spot with Crouch in turns one and two.

Whittall would get by Crouch for the second position with sixteen laps remaining, but Crouch would hang right with the Port Royal Speedway points leader for the remainder of the race, swapping the position back and forth over multiple laps.

For the final 16 laps of the race though, no one would catch Anthony Macri, who would go on to win by over a four second margin.

The victory would put Macri at 30 career wins at the Juniata County half mile track.

Justin Whittall would finish in the runner up position and Brenham Crouch would finish in third, marking his first podium finish in a national touring series competition in his career.

The Penns Valley Meat Market PA Sprint Series looked to complete their 2025 season at Port Royal Speedway in exciting fashion with the points championship coming down to the final race.

Nick Sweigart and Logan Spahr came into the night separated by only 5 points for the top spot in the Port Royal Speedway points, and Sweigart would have the early advantage by starting on the pole of the 20 lap A-main race.

Sweigart would not go unchallenged throughout the race as early on Erin Statler, who started in third, would run down the leader of Sweigart and put pressure on him with 12 laps to go.

Statler would look to the inside of the leader in turn one with the two cars nearly making contact as she began to slide up the race track.

Sweigart was able to hold on to the top position, and with Statler unable to make the pass, she would struggle to regain her momentum.

Kenny Heffner, who had started in the tenth position, would get by Statler for the second position with just nine laps remaining and would quickly close the 2.4 second gap that Sweigart had grown.

With 2 laps to go, Heffner would go to the bottom lane of turn one and Sweigart would choose to go to the top, which allowed Heffner to make the pass on Sweigart for the lead.

Coming off of the second corner however, the top two cars would make contact causing Heffner to bobble and lose momentum and allowed Sweigart to charge back by for the lead.

Sweigart would hold on to win the feature event, marking his third win at the track on the season, and also notching him the track title for 2025.

Heffner would finish in the second position and Josh Spicer would finish in third.

Port Royal Speedway will be back in competition on Friday September 5th for The Night Before the 50 presented by HVAC Distributors Inc. with Kubota High Limit Racing and the Weikert's Livestock 410 sprint cars competing for $10,000 to win. The Zimmerman Truck Repair limited late models will also be in competition to support the show.
