The Oil Region Labor Day Classic at Tri City Raceway Park delivered a full night of memorable racing with everything from dominant drives to dramatic heartbreak and thrilling comebacks. With a racy surface and high-stakes action across all divisions, it was a fitting way to head into the final stretch of the 2025 season.

In the 21st Century Energy Group Big Block Modifieds BRP Tour, it looked like Garrett Krummert was going to be the man to beat. He jumped out to the lead early and set a fast pace until the caution came out on lap 10 for Rick Regalski’s broken machine on the backstretch. While under yellow, Krummert had to make an unscheduled stop for repairs on the No. 29 and rejoined the field in 24th. Just one lap later, another caution flew for a spin by Steve Slater in turn one, and Krummert went pit-side again, dropping to the tail once more. That chaos handed the lead to Jim Rasey, but it didn’t last long — on the restart, Erick Rudolph powered into the top spot off turn two and began to stretch his legs.

Rudolph built a three-second lead before another caution on lap 20 for Cameron Miller’s spin in turn three bunched the field back up. Two more cautions — one for debris and one for Jeremiah Shingledecker’s broken car on lap 29 — set up a final dash to the checkers. On the restart, Rudolph held off Rasey into turn one while Rex King Jr. made a bold move from sixth to second. Meanwhile, Krummert was putting on a show of his own, charging back through the field with a string of aggressive and clean passes. By the end, he had clawed his way to an impressive fourth-place finish.

But up front, it was all Rudolph, who scored his fifth win of the season, 14th career victory at Tri City, and took home the $2,500 winner’s prize. “The track was great tonight, just a lot of fun to race on,” Rudolph said in Victory Lane. “Big thanks to my team for the car they gave me — we could go wherever we needed. These guys out here are tough, and that makes wins like this even more special.” King Jr. crossed the line second, Brad Rapp was third, followed by the hard-charging Krummert in fourth and Ayden Cipriano in fifth. The rest of the top ten included Tyler Willard, Jim Rasey, Dave Murdick, Colten Walter, and Kyle Fink.

The Shawgo Real Estate Pro Stock Penn-Ohio Series Ray’s Race brought one of the night’s most dramatic finishes. Curt J. Bish was on rails, leading 19 of the 20 scheduled laps and appearing to be in full control on his way to what looked like his fourth straight feature win. But on the final lap, coming out of turn two with less than a lap remaining, the right front spindle on Bish’s car broke. The tire separated, and the car rolled twice down the backstretch, bringing his race to a heartbreaking end just moments from victory. Bish walked away uninjured, but the disappointment was written all over the team’s pit area.

With the caution waving, the field reset for a green-white-checkered finish, and Jackson Humanic suddenly found himself on the point. Humanic made the most of the opportunity, holding off a strong late push from Tim Bish — who had charged from ninth — to claim his first Tri City win of the year and the $1,500 top prize. “Sometimes the racing gods smile on you,” Humanic said after the win. “Curt had us all covered tonight, and that’s a tough way for him to lose one. But we’ve had our share of bad luck this year, and it feels great to be back in Victory Lane at our home track. Props to the whole Tri City crew — the surface was really good.” Tim Bish finished second, Andy Buckley grabbed third, followed by Bobby Whitling and Josh Seippel.

In the Complete Car Care RUSH Sprint Cars, there was no surprise in seeing Blaze Myers once again put on a clinic. With the field set from Friday night’s time trials, Myers quickly jumped to the lead and left everyone behind. He led every lap and crossed the finish line nearly ten seconds ahead of the field to secure his tenth win of the season and collect the $800 winner’s check. “This season has just been unbelievable,” Myers said. “We started the year without a ride, and now we’re sitting here with ten wins. I can’t thank my team and supporters enough — this is a dream year.” Zach Morrow finished second, followed by Charlie Utsinger, Ricky Tucker III, and Devon Deeter to complete the top five.
