(Wilmot, Wis., Saturday, September 13, 2025)--Second generation driver Rusty Egan of Round Lake Heights, IL jumped out in front of the 2nd Annual Wilmot Fall Classic AutoMeter powered by Gandrud Performance Wisconsin WingLESS Sprints 20-lap Feature and never looked back.
Egan's rhythm and lead which was over a straightaway at times, was only slowed once when the red flag came out due to Shawn Swim's flip in turn three. Swim walked away but the car was done for the night.
Behind Egan a back and forth battle was going on among six to eight drivers going at it within a second of each other.
Egan came across at the checkered with a lead of nearly 3 seconds a straightaway in front of second place John Fahl of Brown Deer. Series pointleader Adam Taylor of Whitfield, IN came on strong at the end to finish third at the checkered. Wilmot season champion Tim Cox of Park City, IL was fourth. Tyler Kuxhouse of Antioch, IL fifth. Second through fifth were separated by less than a second.
"Finally we got things to go our way," said Egan, referring to all kinds of problems he and his team were experiencing throughout the year. "I have to thank my family, sponsors, the fans who stuck with us. Hopefully this is a sign we've turned the corner with two races to go."
"The track was an elbows up surface which I like, but the red did give me a change to catch my breath," admitted Egan. "I was able to hit my marks on the restart and kept it up to the checkered. This is great. Looking forward to the next two weeks at Plymouth."
Silver Lake's Ralph Johnson won the Fox Lake Harbor presents All Star Performance 1st heat. Egan took the Game Day Men's Health presents Behling Race Equipment 2nd Heat. Cox took top honors in the BR Motorsports presents King Race Products 3rd Heat.
Kenosha's Bryce Andrews posted a lap of :14.685 seconds to top the Body Craft qualifying charts for the seventh time this season overall.
The Wisconsin WingLESS Series has two points events remaining on the 2025 calendar. Plymouth Dirt Track hosts both with the 8th Annual Jim "Wildman" Watson Classic on Saturday, September 20 along with Dirt King Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Wilmot Bandit 4-Cylinder Stock Cars plus the traditional huge bike giveaway.
The point championship season concludes at Plymouth on Saturday, September 27 as part of the Wisconsin Sprint Championships with the Bumper to Bumper IRA Winged 410 Sprints, 11-75 Sports Complex & Eatery IRA Lightning Sprints and the Midwest Sprint Association 360 Sprints.
