A solid 25 sprint cars in the pit area made for an eventful night at 141 Speedway at the Rod Wittkopf Memorial. Box3 Media Hot Laps went to Danny Schlafer. Blake Nimee was fastest in Carbon Safety Technologies Qualifying picking up the Hi-Planes Building Division Quicktime Award.
Heat races belonged to Travis Arenz in Fox Lake Harbor Presents Allstar Performance Heat One, BodyCraft of Antioch presents Behling Racing Heat Two went to Jake Blackhurst, and Game Day Men’s Health presents Engler Machine & Tool Heat three wrapped up with Scotty Netizel bringing home the win.
Travis Arenz and Danny Schlafer were awarded pole positions by the Horizon Whiskey Dash Draw. Travis Arenz earned pole position from winning Optium Electric Dash One, and the outside front row was awarded to Danny Schlafer winning Kristine Hartmann Realtor Dash Two.
Schlafer and Arenz would bring the field to the green. Schalfer would lead the field over the Rayce Rudeen Foundation Champion. Scotty Neitzel would fall to third and Max Guilford would follow behind.
With three laps into the feature, we’d draw out the Honest Abe Roofing Caution Flag. We’d restart the field with the 25 leading the way. With 5 laps into the feature, Danny would continue the lead, but the 25T, 2W, and 16c would all be hot on his tail. Jake Blackhurst was also getting ready to throw himself into the mix as well.
Schlafer would hit lap traffic with 7 laps into the story, this gave the competition a chance to close the gap. We would throw the red flag for Jordan Goldesberry, Logan Julien, and Cruz Dickerson tangled in turn four. All drivers were able to walk away from the scene. We’d restart the field, and Schalfer would continue to lead the way in front of Arenz. With 17 laps remaining, Travis would power around the 25 of Schalfer to take the lead. Max Guilford would use the opportunity to try to grab second, but Schalfer would continue on. Arenz would tick away laps until the white then checkered flag to take the win at 141 Speedway for the second time this season. Schlafer second and Max Guilford would round out the podium. RT’s 5th Quarter Hard Charger Award went to Tyler Brabant, and the Honest Abe Rookie of the Race was awarded to Max Guilford.
The series returns to Minnesota for the Jackson Nationals this Friday and Saturday with the Northern Sprint Car Association for $12,000 to win. Watch live on Floracing.
