Tulsa, OK. (10/10/25) Cannon McIntosh would use a mid-race restart to take the lead and never look back in earning his thirty-first career feature win while battling at Port City Raceway with the POWRi National and West Midget Leagues in Night One of the 21st Annual Charlene Meents Memorial.
Kicking off the on-track excitement with thirty-nine talented entries in the POWRi National and West Midgets would find Gavin Miller started the action off with a quick-time in group qualifying by posting a 10.290-second lap as Andrew Felker, Kale Drake, Michael Faccinto, Trey Marcham, and Alex Sewell would notch the heat racing wins with Kyle Jones and Cooper Miller taking the semi-feature victories.
Beginning the feature field after a quick shower to help the racing surface would find the high-point qualifier Kale Drake and Michael Faccinto led the field to the green flag, with Kale Drake gaining the initial advantage on the opening thirteen laps.
Using a mid-race restart to perfection, Cannon McIntosh would take the top spot over utilizing the speedy high-line around Port City Raceway with action aplenty filling out behind the leader as Kale Drake, Trey Marcham, Ethan Mitchell, and Gavin Miller tried to stay within striking distance.
Holding steady over a restart with eighth laps remaining, Cannon McIntosh would not be denied in claiming his fifth win of the season as leader of one lap, Trey Marcham, would place an impressive runner-up, with Ethan Mitchell rounding out the podium placements.
“We had a good start on the top where the momentum was, and it was key to picking up the win,” said Cannon McIntosh in the Port City Raceway winner’s circle. Adding, “Great to get our footing under us early tonight as we knew what we had to do all night to execute the victory. Fly out to California tomorrow to get into the sprint car, but tonight we celebrate the win in the midget.”
Keeping pace with the front all event, previous night winner Michael Faccinto would finish fourth with Gavin Miller advancing ten spots to round out the POWRi National and West Midget Leagues top five finishers in Night One of the 21st Annual Charlene Meents Memorial at Port City Raceway.
