FARGO, N.D. (October 20, 2025) – A big three-race weekend across three states was on tap over the weekend for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series. The Greatest Show on Dirt made its first appearance to Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, IN since 2016 on Friday night.
Schatz began the night timing in 11th quick and running third in his heat race, putting him 11th on the grid for the 35-lap feature.
Schatz worked his way into the top 10 early in the race, but found himself shuffled back to 13th with 10 laps to go. The 10-time series champion made a late-race rally, however, and propelled himself into ninth on the final lap. When David Gravel and Buddy Kofoid made contact racing for the win in turn four, the result was Kofoid spinning to a stop at the top of the track, which pushed the JVI Group No. 15 to an eighth place result.
Saturday night’s event at LaSalle (IL) Speedway was canceled due to the high chance of severe weather, making Sunday’s stop at Angell Park Speedway in Wisconsin the second and final race of the weekend.
Qualifying set the Schatz/Sides team back early on in the night, which led to Schatz lining up 20th in the grid for the feature. Schatz quickly made moves to work his way up the running order. By the halfway point in the race, Schatz ran 12th behind his Sides Motorsports teammate, Chris Windom, and seemed poised to keep marching his way forward. Unfortunately, the track latched up with rubber, which made passing extremely difficult.
The remainder of the race was mainly run in single-file formation as Schatz cruised to a 12th place finish, which netted him the night’s KSE Hard Charger award.
This weekend, the Outlaws head to 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas on Friday, before heading to Oklahoma’s Arrowhead Speedway for the Jason Johnson Classic on Saturday.
Schatz has two career wins at 81 Speedway, which came in 2006 and 2017. Last year, he charged from 12th to third.
In one career visit to Arrowhead Speedway, Schatz has an 11th place run to his credit.
