Season Starts for Mark Dobmeier

With rain holding back the first two weeks of racing for the Lunstra/Dobmeier team, it was finally time to make the 2009 debut at Knoxville Raceway with the World of Outlaws. The first race of the year is always the time to get the winter season bugs removed and that is what Lunstra/Dobmeier did this past Saturday night. They went to Knoxville with their typical high expectations, but they also knew that a test and tune night was necessary. After Hot Laps and finishing ninth in the heat race, the bugs were gone and Mark went back to being fast. The Lunstra/Dobmeier Senske and Son #13 started in the back of the Semi and drove up to the number 6 spot, just 2 positions outside the transfer for the main event. “The night went pretty well,” explains Mark, “we just didn’t have our motor quite right qualifying, but once we got it fueled right we were fast; we came from the back of the ‘B’ and up to 6th. Next weekend will be the start of our weekend swing and I have high expectations of some wins for the Lunstra/Dobmeier #13.”

The team will begin their three-night race weekend starting this Friday in Grand Forks followed by Knoxville Raceway and then Huset’s Speedway in Sioux Falls, SD.
