Inside Line Promotions – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Nov. 3, 2013) – Mark Burch Motorsports and Danny Lasoski capped the year by picking up the team’s seventh victory of the season last weekend at I-30 Speedway.

Lasoski powered the car to the win during the inaugural Short Track Nationals Open on Wednesday at the bullring, which kicked off the 26th annual Short Track Nationals with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

“We got down there and they had probably one of the best race tracks I’ve seen in a long time,” Lasoski said. “You had a bottom, a middle and a top.”

With 95 drivers competing for the victory, which assured a starting spot in the $15,000-to-win feature on Saturday, Lasoski rallied the Mark Burch Motorsports entry from eighth to third place during his heat race.

“We came through and put ourselves in position for the main event,” Lasoski said. “It’s very rare you can have a car that runs the top, middle and bottom, and Mark and Shane gave me a car that could do that.”

Lasoski was fifth in overall points after the heat races, which lined him up on the inside of the third row for the 25-lap main event.

“In a matter of about five laps I could see the guys spinning their tires,” he said. “I pulled our wing back and got the car rolling through the center. It was moving flawlessly through the middle. We took the same car we had a year ago when it was slick so we had high confidence going in there that if the race track was wide and slick we could go forward.”

And they did.

Lasoski took the lead on Lap 15 and cruised to the triumph, which was the team’s third with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour this season.

That wrapped up the season for the Mark Burch Motorsports entry. Lasoski piloted the team to seven victories, 15 top fives and 20 top 10s in 27 races.

“It was a pleasure to drive that race car,” he said. “Mark and I had a great year together and I’m looking forward to next year.”
