2008 Season Re-Cap for Cressman Racing

2008 Season Re-Cap for Cressman Racing

The 2008 Season for Cressman Racing, according to some of the finishes, was not all that pretty. But, being the first season in an Outlaw 410 Sprint Car, things went relatively well. There were plenty of crashes and DNF’s, but much of that was due to the very frustrating effect of bad luck. With some electrical issues at the beginning of the year causing a few DNF’s and a tweaked race car at the later part of the season, results cannot be good. On the other hand, when the Cressman Team had a little luck on their side, the finishes were towards the front. The World of Outlaws show at Huset’s Speedway, Johnn put the Bolte’s Roll Off Service WolfWeld Chassis 9th quick and had a respectable run throughout the evening. The team is there, Johnn is there behind the wheel and the motor program is very good, so once the monkey jumps off the back of Cressman Racing, one will certainly see Johnn standing in victory lane very soon. There were some very high points along with many lows, but one can only take the experience gained from this season to build character and use the lows to work off of and use the high points for momentum into the 2009 season.

Currently, Johnn is working for the Terry McCarl Big Game Motorsports Team on the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Tour and will be finishing out the 20008 Season with them. Up next on his schedule is a two-day event in San Felipe Pueblo, NM followed by the California run and then back across the country with a single stop in Topeka, KS, then out to Concord, NC for the World Finals.

The Cressman Team is gearing up for the upcoming season of ’09 and is currently working on a program to head down to Florida towards the end of January to hit a few 360 Sprint shows followed by the 410 events at East Bay and Volusia to get a jump start to a victorious 2009 season.

Johnn would like to thank all of the fans for their support as well as Bolte’s Roll Off Service, Abbas Landscaping, R & R Concrete, Nothdurft Construction, Batteries Plus, Electromotive Engine Controls, Impact Auto Works, Missile Muffler, Performance Graphics, Performance One, Bell Racing, BR Motorports, Total Seal, VP Racing Fuels, Vortex Racing Products, VMAC, Pro Shocks, Curt & Ross Ness Family, Goodridge, Crane Cams and Driver Websites for sticking with the team throughout this season and is glad to say that next year will be a different season.
