Inside Line Promotions – JONESTOWN, Pa. (May 4, 2014) – Alex Bright powered to one of his most thrilling triumphs ever last Friday at Linda’s Speedway.

Bright made a daring pass in the final two laps to secure his third victory of the season and his first in wingless micro sprint action.

“I think once I got in open ground I put it into another gear,” he said. “Just in the two laps that I had the lead I built a two-second lead.”

While Bright won convincingly, it was a battle to get to the top spot.

After charging from fourth place to win his heat race, the feature inversion started Bright on the inside of the fourth row.

“I was up to fifth place and they sent me to the rear for contact with another car on the opening lap,” he said. “I was put back to 23rd. I used just about every line on the track. The track normally doesn’t build a cushion, but it did on Friday because it was so wet.”

By Lap 5, Bright was up to 14th. He cracked the top 10 by the midpoint of the race and he was up to fourth place with five laps remaining.

“The cautions just fell at the right time,” he said. “I’d get past a couple of cars and the caution would come out to regroup everyone. I kinda picked them off one by one.”

That set up an incredible finish as Bright capitalized on a slide job entering turn one with two laps remaining to take the lead.

“I got to (the leader) and he was running the same line I was,” he said. “I got a good run coming off turn four and shot below him and did a big slide job. I knew I’d have to drive it in deep and slide it up in front of him. I know I cleared him, but I don’t know by how much.”

Bright then motored to the victory, which marked his third straight month with a feature win.

He is scheduled to return to Linda’s Speedway this Friday.
