Inside Line Promotions – PLYMOUTH, Ind. (May 20, 2014) – Mark Burch Motorsports continued to showcase speed as the team and driver Danny Lasoski ventured to Indiana for the Earl Gaerte Classic last Saturday.

The memorial race featuring the Sprints On Dirt series marked the first time Lasoski and the team tackled Plymouth Speedway.

“Earl Gaerte was instrumental in the beginning of my career,” Lasoski said. “I can’t thank him enough. We wanted to honor Earl.”

Lasoski opened the event by charging from sixth to a second-place finish in his heat race, which earned him the most points of any driver and a trip to the feature redraw.

“I got to second and the leader was setting a good pace,” he said. “I knew the object of the night was getting in the redraw. I thought sixth to second should put me in there somewhere so I didn’t push it.”

Unfortunately, Lasoski pulled the second-highest number – seven – in the random redraw to start the main event on the inside of the fourth row.

“The race track was very challenging,” he said. “By the time I got to second Randy Hannagan was out there quite a ways. We had some traffic and I ran him down. He did what any good driver would do and took up the race track. A couple of times in traffic I got to the outside of his right rear, but he did a good job. He made the race track round and did a good job.”

Lasoski earned a runner-up finish for Mark Burch Motorsports, which has recorded a pair of top-two results in its first four races this season.

“Every time I get to race with Mark we’re always in contention to win and I’m proud of that,” Lasoski said.

The team is scheduled to compete this Friday at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., with the ASCS Midwest Region. On Saturday, Mark Burch Motorsports will race at either Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, or at Butler County Speedway in Rising City, Neb., with the Nebraska 360 Sprints. The weekend will wrap up on Sunday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., with the Nebraska 360 Sprints.
