Tulsa Oklahoma (June 16, 2014) – Regional racetrack promoter Jacob Frese & his West Siloam Speedway in Colcord Oklahoma will host the Oil Capital Racing Series sprint cars in a special ‘non-wing’ racing event this coming Friday night. After a rainout for a non-wing race scheduled last month in Caney Kansas, this event now becomes the first non-wing event in 2014 for OCRS and the excitement of the anticipated mud slinging action that will take place is quite high.

This special sprint car event is being presented by AmerFlex Hose & Accessories, a Tulsa based industrial, commercial and residential hose and fitting supplier. AmeriFlex is also the sponsor of the first OCRS heat race as well as the Hard Charger Award at each OCRS tour stop during the season.

Race fans will see their favorite OCRS stars scream down the straightaways and pitch their high powered machines as deep into the corners as they dare. Drivers such as Danny Smith and Andrew Deal (who are just a single point apart in the chase for the Harold Leep Championship Trophy) along with Kade and Chance Morton, Alex DeCamp, Kyle Clark, Brian McClelland, David Stephenson, Joe Wood Jr. and both of last weekend’s winners, Michael Bookout and Derek Cottrell are scheduled to be in attendance with many other sprint car teams.

Non wing sprint car racing is a divine test of car and driver, with the driver having a lot of say as to what the outcome is going to be as these pilots will tell you that this type of racing puts the emphasis more upon themselves than the car itself. There have been several successful non-wing sprint car pilots move into the highest levels of racing. Names such as: Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Kasey Kahne, Kyle Larson, Jose Wise, Ken Schrader and J.J. Yeley just to name a small few.

On the current national non wing open wheel scene with local ties, you have drivers like former OCRS pilot Brady Bacon of Broken Arrow, who currently leads the USAC national sprint car point standings and there is Norman Oklahoma’s Christopher Bell, the reigning USAC national midget champion, who is currently second in USAC national midget points.

OCRS drivers will not only be competing for the cash awarded for Friday night, but also for some additional incentives as a special point fund for the non wing races has been established by participating sponsors. The 2014 Non-Wing Champion will receive a gift offering from the ‘Jimmy Sills Open Wheel Racing School’ in Marysville, California. Sills, an accomplished sprint car star and a National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee, will place the OCRS non-wing champion in a special driving package program that is valued at near $2000.

The OCRS non-wing champion will also receive a $300 gift certificate from the great folks at M and W Aluminum Products in New York. Through these multiple sponsorships, the OCRS non-wing champion will also receive cash and positions two through five in the final standings will all receive cash awards as well.

The 2014 sponsor line-up for the non-wing portions of the schedule include:
