Inside Line Promotions – JACKSON, Minn. (July 7, 2014) – While rain has been winning most of the races in the Midwest the past few weeks, Mark Burch Motorsports was able to take advantage of one dry day last week.

The team tackled the 7th annual Folken Brothers Trucking Spring Sprint Car Nationals at Jackson Speedway last Thursday, when driver Danny Lasoski claimed his heat race to put the Mark Burch Motorsports entry into the dash.

“They brought us on the frontstretch and had playing cards to line up the dash,” Lasoski said. “I drew nine out of 10.”

That started him on the inside of the fifth row for the dash, where Lasoski maneuvered to record a fifth-place finish. That lined him up on the inside of the third row for the 25-lap main event.

“I got up to second within 10 laps,” he said. “We’d run three laps and have a caution, run three laps and have a caution. We never got into traffic.”

As Lasoski competed with Brian Brown for the lead, Jason Johnson made it a three-way battle near the midpoint of the feature.

“I lost second for a while there,” Lasoski said. “Jason Johnson passed us, but we got him back. We just didn’t have enough for Brown. He was just better. He got the lead on the first lap and no one ever challenged him. We had two or three restarts and I couldn’t do anything with him.”

Lasoski finished second, which marked the fifth top five in eight races this season for Mark Burch Motorsports.

“It was a pleasure to drive for Mark and the guys,” he said. “They always give me a great car.”

The team had planned to compete on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, before rain washed out the event.
