Roseville Witnesses Another Swanson Victory]

Mike Murgoitio leads the USAC Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint cars back to Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah Sunday night, holding a 30-point lead over series runner-up Jim Waters. Murgoitio has won three of the six Rocky Mountain races contested this year at the 3/8-mile paved oval.

Tanner Swanson of Kingsburg, Calif. scored his second victory of the 2009 USAC Western Sprint car campaign at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. Saturday night, leading all but six laps to win the 50-lap race in his TK Motorsports machine. Swanson led the first lap, then Shauna Hogg led the next six before Swanson returned to lead the rest of the way.

JoJo Helberg, USAC’s 2008 Rocky Mountain Sprint Car champion, was second at the checkered flag ahead of Hogg, Murgoitio and fast qualifier Tony Hunt. Swanson’s lead now stands at 33 points over Helberg going into an August 15 Western race at Madera, Calif.
