Tuesday's With Ty: 2015 Chili Bowl Announcement.
Owasso, OK| December 9 ,2014- With announcements coming out across the country about the 2015 Chili Bowl, we fill it fitting that we release our plans for this year's race.
THR will be joining forces with Stephanie Meents Racing team owned by Stephanie Meents for the 2015 Chili Bowl. Coming off his first full season of midget racing Ty placed 5th in the season points race, and will be crowned the Lucas Oil POWRi West Midget Series Rookie Of the Year at the banquet to be held January 11,2015.
Ty will pilot the 4M Spike/Esslinger with help from several sponsors including Airgroup, Dirty Knuckle Garage Clothing, Medley Materials, Tulsa Aluminum, S&M Auto, Wilson Trucking, Shock Doc, Fenton Graphics, JET Motorsports, Finishline Coatings, Pepsi, Autoglass Unlimited and iRaceTV.
We also welcome current SMR sponsors for this special event, Royal Purple, Jet-Hot High Performance Coatings, Mud-X, Real Wheels, Millenium Components, Rod End Supply, KBR Performance, & Schoenfeld.
When asked how he felt about the opportunity to run for SMR Ty said " I feel great, it's an amazing honor to run for SMR. I can't thank Stephanie and her team enough for the opportunity," he went on to say " It excites me knowing we are returning to the Chili Bowl with a full season of midget racing under our belt and the fact that I'm in great equipment and knowing I can get the job done this year."
While Ty will not be in the family owned car have no fear, Crew Chief Harlan Hulsey will be piloting the 21 car in his Rookie debut at this year's Chili Bowl.
