Freeman Seeking Main Event During 30th annual Tulsa Shootout This Week

Inside Line Promotions – LONGVIEW, Texas (Dec. 30, 2014) – Cody Freeman has a solid goal in mind when he invades the River Spirit Expo Center this week.

Freeman is aiming to make the 30th annual Speedway Motors Tulsa Shootout main event in his Restricted “A” Class during the premier micro sprint event this Wednesday through Saturday.

“We’re getting excited,” he said. “Ever since we got the new motor the car has been running awesome. We should have a better chance of making the A Main this year. That’s the main goal.”

Freeman missed making the feature by a handful of positions last season and he said there were lessons he learned that can be applied to the competition this week.

“To be more aggressive,” he said. “Last year I thought you couldn’t stay in the gas going in to the corners as long. You’ve got to stay in the gas a long time going in to keep up your speed.”

Freeman will battle a tough field of approximately 75 drivers, which will be whittled down to 24 feature starters.

“There are a lot of people and it’s really challenging,” he said. “It’s probably my favorite race of the year.”
