Inside Line Promotions – TULSA, Okla. (Jan. 11, 2015) – Dunlap Performance is fielding a two-car team this week at the 29th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals.

Oklahoma’s Danny Jennings and Cale Thomas of Indiana will pilot midgets for the team throughout the premier midget event, which runs this Tuesday through Saturday inside the River Spirit Expo Center.

“The Chili Bowl is a race that my father and I look forward to and plan for all year,” said Brian Dunlap, who heads Dunlap Performance along with his father, Mike. “We ran a car at the Western World in November and after a couple of top-10 runs we feel like we learned a lot and are better prepared for the Chili Bowl than we have been in the past.”

Thomas is scheduled for preliminary action on Wednesday with Jennings competing in prelim competition on Friday.

“We are excited to have Danny Jennings back in a car this year,” Brian Dunlap said. “Danny has driven for us from the time we started our midget program. He is like family and we always look forward to working together for this race.

“Cale Thomas may be new to our team, but I have watched him race micros and winged 410 sprint cars. He has a desire to perform and win like no other. It’s exciting to be in a position to give him a shot in one of our midgets.”

While Dunlap Performance doesn’t compete in many races each year, the Chili Bowl is always circled on the calendar.

“The Chili Bowl is the premier event in midgets and easily in the top five in all of short track racing,” Dunlap said. “From the first night I set foot in the building as a spectator I have wanted to be a part of it. I want to thank the Hahn and Edwards families for all of the hard work they put into making it such a great event to be a part of.”

“I can’t thank Brian and Jeannie Butler enough for their help and guidance with our midget program over the years,” Dunlap said. “The cockpit of a midget can be a challenge to fit a containment seat in due to sizing constraints. Brian has always worked to come up with creative ways of building seats that not only are the safest, but also fit the area we have to work with in the midgets. ButlerBuilt seats and product innovations are top of the line and we rest easy knowing that when our midgets push off our drivers are sitting in the best, safest seats on the race track.”
