Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (March 1, 2015) – Trey Starks is primed to kick off his 2015 season in the United States this week.
Starks, who earned a top 10 in Australia during the offseason, will compete this Wednesday and Thursday at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas in Las Vegas for the FVP Outlaw Showdown and on Saturday at USA Raceway in Tucson, Ariz., for the NAPA Wildcat Shootout with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.
“I think we’re ready,” he said. “We’ve been working here for the last two months really hard. We’ve done a bunch of different stuff with the trailer, just getting everything more organized. We’ve been in the shop 12-to-14 hours a day. We’re the most prepared we’ve ever been. We have a really good package. I think everything will work well together.”
Starks has recorded a trio of top 20s during his limited career at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas.
“Las Vegas is a really fast track,” he said. “It races really well. I really like the track. Conditions have been iffy before, but last year the track was great and racy. It’s one of the fastest feeling tracks out there. The acceleration is pretty wild. It’s a fun track.
“As far as expectations go we obviously expect to win every race we go to. I think we’ve got a great shot to do well there. The equipment underneath us is the best of the best. Now it’s up to us to finish the deal.”
Starks will round out the week at USA Raceway, where he rallied from 21st to 13th last year during his 410ci debut at the track.
“Tucson was fun with a 360 and it’s pretty wild with a 410,” he said. “You’re going really fast on that track. The thing was pretty slick last year and when it gets slick like that it gets racy and you can basically run anywhere on that track. I’m always excited to go to Tucson because of the way it races. It’s one of my favorite tracks.”
