Although the temperatures were down, Boyd Raceway's fans were up for some action on a pleasant Good Friday. Mike Herring led the team with a 8th place finish in the A-Main feature with rookie Josh Hanna coming in 16th.
The night started with a surprise. In his second ever race, #82 Josh Hanna started on the pole position of Heat Race #1 and stayed there for the entirety of the 8 lap, 8 car, all-green-flag shootout. Unfortunately #99 Mike Herring's and #80 Bud Hanna's Heat Race #4 was mired with yellow flags with Mike and Bud finishing 3rd and 5th respectively. From the Heat Races, the team transferred two cars to the A-Main (#99/82), one car to the Dash for Cash (#82), and one car to the B-Main (#80).
On the ensuing Dash for Cash, rookie Hanna got a little too enthusiastic going to turn 3 and spun out before the 4 laps were completed, thus disqualifying him for the competition. The elder Hanna's race directly followed the Dash with the B-Main. Bud eventually found his groove on the slick track, and finished 5th just outside of the last transfer spot into the A-Main.
A 20 lap, and caution-free, A-Main was won by Jason Howell who passed a dominate Kenny Venable at the end of the race.
