Season Begins for Michael Bookout after a False BiGFooT Sighting in Ardmore

After a brief appearance at the season opening event in Ardmore, Oklahoma, at Southern Oklahoma Speedway, Michael Bookout started his 2015 racing season at Outlaw Motor Speedway at Oktaha, Oklahoma, on Saturday night, April 11. The BiGFooT Team was just a blur in Ardmore a couple of weeks ago. Running in hotlaps the BiGFooT sprinter broke an oil pump and was done for the night before even starting a race.

Forward to two weeks later after repairs were made on the Triple X chassis, Stewart Engines powered, and Finish Line Coatings and Ti22 Peformance sponsored sprinter. In the first race of the evening, Michael rocketed to the lead from a second place starting spot, eventually giving way to Robert Sellers. Sellers and Bookout battled the remainder of the race finishing a straight-a-way ahead of the rest of the field. Michael finished second in that heat (his first race of the season).

By the time the "A" Feature lined up for the evening, the track had dried out tremendously and was SLICK. Battling a too-loose setup, Michael was able to manage a 13th place finish in the feature event. That finish propelled him to 22nd in the season standings (out of over 40 drivers).

Next week's race is in Caney, Kansas. The OCRS sprints go from the largest track in the series to one of the smallest.
