Tulsa OK (April 28, 2015) – Classic automobile and auto racing enthusiasts are set for a full day this Saturday as the AmeriFlex / OCRS sprint car series is set to embark onto the Caney Valley Speedway in Caney Kansas for the first of four scheduled AmeriFlex / OCRS events in 2015 at the ¼-mile oval. This is a make-up date from the rained-out event on April 18th.

Just 15 miles south of Caney lies the town of Dewey Oklahoma where classic cars will reign supreme at the 14th Annual Stray Kat 500 car show where hundreds of cars, trucks and bikes will be out and about for eye gawking. This sets up for a perfect doubleheader of automotive eye candy.

Take a leisurely stroll at the car show during the afternoon soaking in all the nostalgia your eyes can absorb and then come near dusk, trek 15 minuets northward to the Caney Valley Speedway and witness some intense, nail biting, hair raising open wheel racing to cap off a fantastic day of automotive galore. Forecast is for sunny skies with highs in the 80’s with the evening racing temps in the 70’s. Translation: Bring your ZZ Top shades and some Coppertone.

Leading the AmeriFlex / OCRS convoy to Caney Valley is Tulsa’s Sean McClelland who scored a win last week at Lawton Speedway and had two runner-up finishes in the prior events held on the 2015 schedule thus far. Norman’s Sheldon Barksdale is another driver who has gotten off to a red-hot start by collecting three straight podium finishes for the best start of his young career.

Adding to the potent talent that could score Caney Valley glory are drivers such as: Robert Sellers, a victor at the Outlaw Motor Speedway on April 11th along with his son Shane Sellers, Brian McClelland, Whit Gastineau, Danny Smith and Alex Decamp, all of whom deposited main event cash last season plus several other potential winners.

NUTZ n’ BOLTZ

Statz:
Those who read up on the AmeriFlex / OCRS series are aware of the recent posts of frequent winners in the series as of late. For those looking in on these facts for the first time, with the win by Sean McClelland last Saturday night at Lawton Speedway, there have been 12 different winners in the past 14 AmeriFlex / OCRS events held dating back to June of 2014. Simply amazing.

Top Dogz:
Sean McClelland and Sheldon Barksdale are the only 2 drivers to have earned top 5 finishes in all three races held to date. In addition to this duo, Gary Owens is the only other driver to finish in the top ten in all three events.

Numberz:
After three events on the 2015 racing tour, the AmeriFlex / OCRS sprint car series is averaging 33-1/2 cars per event. There were 34 at the opener at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway followed by 29 at the Outlaw Motor Speedway and 38 at Lawton Speedway. The total count of 101 cars entered in the first three events of the season is an all-time record for the series.

New Peepz:
There were several drivers either making their AmeriFlex / OCRS series debut or participating with the series once again after a lengthy absence. Justin Fisk, Derrick Gentilly, Cody Wampler, Che Hawkins, Jerry Bruner, Mike Baker and Ryan Padgett were welcomed visitors to the regular teams that we typically see hail from Lawton Speedway that participated in the program.

I Gotz This:
Texas wheelman Chad Koch finished a strong second after leading the early laps of the AmeriFlex Hose & Accessories 25-lap main event Saturday night. 2015 is Koch’s second year in sprint car competition and he has quickly proved he can ran run with the best champ sprints in the land. Job well done Mr. Koch.

Lucky Numberz:
The AmeriFlex / OCRS series, in partnership with our promoters and sponsors, have given away several items via the AmeriFlex / OCRS point standings fliers provided to fans as they enter each event. The prizes have been: Multiple Lunch Combos, multiple oil changes, Hot Wheels car sets, Pit pass upgrades, hats and shirts. No word yet and when a new Corvette will be in the mix.

Caney Valley Speedway is consistent with having super great crowds when the AmeriFlex / OCRS sprint cars come to town, so once you have enjoyed the Stray Kat 500 in the afternoon hours, head for the racetrack and grab yourself a prime seat, relax and let the on-track fireworks commence.
