JOSH PIENIAZEK WINS CRSA THRILLER AT FONDA
Fonda, New York…The CRSA Sprint Tour made a rare Wednesday night appearance at Fonda Speedway. This would be the second appearance for the touring series at the “Track of Champions.” Josh Pieniazek of Schenectady, New York made the short tow to Fonda pay dividends by bringing his Warren’s Auto Body sponsored sprinter home first in the twenty lap main event.

Christian Rumsey and John Matrafailo brought the twenty car field to the green flag at the ultra fast Fonda Speedway. Brett Jaycox wasted little time moving to the front gaining the top spot after only one lap. Jaycox and Matrafailo fought back and forth through the early going with Matrafailo moving to the top spot on lap four with Matrafailo and Jaycox following closely. Jaycox kept his car strong moving back to the top spot one lap later with Mike Kiser, Rumsey, Josh Pieniazek now moving into the hunt.

Kiser was the next to take the top spot moving past Jaycox on lap eight. The tight knit group of sprint cars came to Kenny Marshall’s halfway flags with Kiser out front followed by Jaycox, Rumsey, Josh Pieniazek, and Corey Sparks.

The action continued with battles all over the speedway. Kiser’s great run came to an end on lap twelve when he retired his car from competition handing the lead back to Jaycox. Jaycox now had Josh Pieniazek glued to his bumper with Rumsey, Sparks, and Matrafailo chasing. Josh Pieniazek mounted a charge and moved to the top spot on lap seventeen. He would keep the top spot for the final three circuits coming home with his first CRSA victory of the young season. Sparks would continue his great early racing season coming home second. Jaycox held on for third with Rumsey having his best 2015 finish coming home fourth. Defending CRSA champion John Matrafailo brought his car home fifth only to come across the scales light.

SPRINT NOTES: A strong field of sprinters made their way to Fonda for the mid-week special. Cory Sparks, Joe Kata, and Dalton Herrick were heat winners with Dan Hennessey winning the dash. The CRSA Tour continues Friday May 22nd at the I-88 Speedway in Afton, New York. Cory Sparks, Scott Goodrich, and Mike Kiser have a great battle going in CRSA points after only four races.
