A Special Thanks to Blane Morton of Morton Excavating

The vibration felt during the "A" Feature at Lawton Speedway turned out to be caused by the results of a connecting rod bolt breaking. Repair and rebuild of the engine is under way, causing Michael Bookout to miss last week's race at Tri State Speedway in Pocola, Oklahoma. The race at Monett Speedway on the same weekend was rained out.

Bookout will be racing at Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada this coming weekend thanks to Blane Morton. The Morton Excavating Racing Team of Kade and Chance Morton are focusing their sprint efforts in ASCS action. The Mortons had an OCRS motor available and the BiGFooT Team and Blane Morton reached an agreement to lease the engine on a temporary basis.

Blane was the recipient of the 2014 OCRS Sportsmanship Award. He is a true gentleman and ambassador for the sport of racing. He shares a passion for racing and is available to help and mentor in any way possible. His willingness to help the Bookouts speaks volumes for his character and is appreciated by the team. His selection for the "sportsmanship" award last year was spot on.
