Donald James Rortvedt, age 57, died in a single car accident on June 25.
For many years Don was involved in the track maintance/prep at Angell Park Speedway, and with the management of the track's pavilion. Don was a member of the Sun Prairie Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years, also serving on Angell Park's Park Board. Over the years he was employed as a chef, cabinet maker, and cheese salesman.
He is survived by his wife Cindy; parents Charles and Joan; daughter Carlae; three grandchildren and numerous brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2015, at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, with Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt presiding. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie and from 11:45 to 12:45 at the Funeral Home on Friday. A scripture service will take place at 8 p.m. on Thursday evening. Burial will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery.
