Inside Line Promotions – DES MOINES, Iowa (July 6, 2015) – A tough draw and a stacked up feature start hampered Mark Burch Motorsports last Thursday during a Sprint Invaders event at Iowa State Fair Speedway.

A high pill draw started the team on the inside of the third row for a heat race, in which driver Danny Lasoski maneuvered from fifth to third place.

“We couldn’t quite make it up into the top two during the heat race, which we needed to do to set ourselves up in the feature,” he said.

Unfortunately, that was one spot shy of advancing into the dash and it lined the Mark Burch Motorsports entry up on the inside of the fourth row for the main event.

“The polesitter brake checked everyone on the start and they all bottled up,” he said. “We knocked the nose wing down.”

The red flag was waved on the opening lap as a fellow driver got upside down. Lasoski pulled into the infield, but wasn’t allowed to return to action when the race resumed.

“That series has a rule where there’s no work area,” he said. “I don’t know if we would have won, but we would have definitely been in contention. The race track had widened up enough. We would have been right up there.

“I really hate it for Mark and the team. They work very hard to put together great cars and it’s frustrating when you don’t even get a lap in, but that’s just part of racing.”
