Pair of Blockbuster Events Round Out July at DCRP

Dodge City Raceway Park has been the place to be in recent weeks.

And after an idle weekend coming up, the 3/8-mile clay oval wraps up the month of July with another pair of big events on July 18 and July 24.

The premier facility comes off an action-packed stretch of six consecutive weeks of racing, finished off by the World of Outlaws “Boothill Showdown” this past weekend after the Steve King Memorial the previous weekend.

With just this weekend off for everyone to catch their collective breath, it’s right back at it on Saturday, July 18, with the Third Annual Modified Stampede.

The third edition of the Modified Stampede featuring IMCA Modifieds will offer up a $1,200 winner’s share. The IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks will be in action as well.

David Murray topped the inaugural Modified Stampede in 2013 with Brendon Gemmill leading the way in last year’s Stampede.

Dodge City Raceway Park will finish out the month by kicking off the “Dodge City Days” festival with Driver Appreciation & First Responder Night on Friday, July 24.

The July 24 card will feature a full complement of championship chase action with the URSS Sprint Cars taking on the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars along with IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks.

It will be a pack-the-stands kind of night with drivers allotted tickets to distribute to the event and becoming eligible for all variety of prizes headlined by the grand prize of a Hinchman Racing suit.

With just a handful of events remaining along with Flat Track Motorcycles on August 7, the current championship chase point leaders at Dodge City Raceway Park include Luke Cranston (Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars), Austin Allen (IMCA Modifieds), Jeff Kaup (IMCA Sport Modifieds), Michael Pepper (IMCA Stock Cars) and Cody Davis (IMCA Hobby Stocks).

General admission tickets for the July 18 and July 25 events are $15 each with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult.

The 2015 slate of events at Dodge City Raceway Park includes 15 nights of competition with a number of special events along the way. The track’s full slate of events is available at http://www.dodgecityraceway.com/schedule/.
