Inside Line Promotions – WEST LEBANON, N.Y. (July 27, 2015) – Jason Sides bookended a busy weekend in the Northeast with a pair of top 10s.

Sides kicked off the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup last Tuesday by qualifying 13th quickest in his group before he placed sixth in a heat race and second in a Last Chance Showdown at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa. That locked him into the 22nd starting position for the first of twin main events at the high-banked track.

“We had a good balance on the car and I was able to maneuver around like I needed starting that far back,” he said. “Any time you can pass that many cars and get a top 10 it’s a good night.”

Sides rallied to pick up an eighth-place result, which also earned him the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars. Since the second feature was lined up by inverting the lead lap cars from the first main event Sides started on the outside of the sixth row.

“We battled for a top 10 throughout most of the feature, but late in the race we spun around and that cost us a few spots,” he said after placing 13th.

The team ventured to Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., on Friday. Sides timed in fourth quickest during his group. He then finished third in a heat race and 14th in the main event.

He returned to the half-mile oval on Saturday for the Summer Nationals.

“We barely missed the inversion during qualifying and once you do that at a big track with a lot of talented drivers like there are at Williams Grove it’s an uphill battle the rest of the night,” he said.

Sides qualified ninth quickest – one spot out of the inversion and a starting position on the pole of a heat race. He advanced from fifth to fourth place in a heat race before wrapping up the night with an 18th-place result during the feature.

The busy week concluded on Sunday at Lebanon Valley Speedway. Sides qualified 10th quickest, but missed a spot in the dash when he pulled in early while leading his heat race because of a mechanical problem. He capped the night by picking up two spots to finish ninth during the main event.

Sides heads to Canada this week as he tackles Ohsweken Speedway in Ohsweken, Ontario, on Tuesday; Brockville Ontario Speedway in Brockville, Ontario, on Friday and Autodrome Drummond in Drummondville, Quebec, on Saturday with the World of Outlaws.
