Bob Ream, Jr., and Ryan Roath took the headline feature events that topped off a hot night of racing action on Saturday at Canyon Speedway Park’s Fourth Annual Summer Slam.
While Ream, Jr., reeled in ASCS Southwest winged Sprint Car honors and Roath captured his first IMCA Modified win of the year at CSP, other Summer Slam victors included Chris McCurdy, Jr., in Pure Stocks, Joe Peterson in Renegades and Cody Batten in Micro Sprints.
In the winged Sprint Cars, Ream, Jr., made a late move around Lance Norick to take top ASCS Southwest honors in the 25-lap feature event. Ream, Jr., took his first CSP checkered flag of the year ahead of Norick with Billy Chester, Ryan Linder and Tyler Seavey in the top five.
Ryan Roath rallied from eighth to claim his first 9th World Vapor IMCA Modified feature win of the season ahead of pole starter Ty Rogers with Guy Norton, Garrett Funk and George Fronsman in the top five.
Chris McCurdy, Jr., snapped a five-race stretch of Matt Martinez and Zack Madrid Arizona Differential Pure Stock domination by racing to his fourth CSP win of the year in Pure Stocks ahead of Madrid and Martinez with Darren Olney and Marlowe Wrightsman also in the top five.
Joe Peterson raced from sixth to capture his first Scottsdale Muffler & Automotive Renegades win of the year ahead of John Romero and Chuck Thornton with Cody Batten picking up his second Micro Sprint win in the last three events by crossing the stripe in front of Kyle Huttenhow and 11th-starter Mason Keefer.
Action continues at Canyon Speedway Park on September 5-6 with the Arizona Differential Pure Stocks “Stock Car Shootout 100” with 9th World Vapor IMCA Modifieds, Scottsdale Muffler & Automotive Renegades, AMA Mod Lites and Dwarf Cars in action as well on both nights.
