Inside Line Promotions – LONGVIEW, Texas (Dec. 29, 2015) – Cody Freeman is setting his sights high following his first career TOWR micro sprint championship in 2015.
Freeman will compete in both the winged and nonwing “A” class and Outlaw divisions this week during the 31st annual Speedway Motors Tulsa Shootout at Tulsa Expo Raceway in Tulsa, Okla., where the action runs from Wednesday through Saturday.
“I’m mainly focused on the new things we put on the car and we’ll just go from there,” he said. “We are running with a new motor, injection system and power steering.”
This week will mark Freeman’s debut in the Outlaw class while he only has four combined starts in “A” class competition. Freeman earned a podium finish at Gator Motorplex in Willis, Texas, and a ninth-place result at Boyd Raceway in Boyd, Texas, during nonwing action and he posted a pair of top 20s during two “A” class winged features in 2015.
“The main goal is just to make an A Main,” he said. “The competition will be as good as it gets. We’ll definitely be tested every time we hit the track so making an A Main would be a great accomplishment for our team.”
Freeman had a breakout year in the restricted class in 2015, which he began by winning his first two outdoor races. Freeman finished with three feature victories as well as the TOWR restricted title.
