Beierle Happy with Progress at 30th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals

Inside Line Promotions – TULSA, Okla. (Jan. 18, 2016) – Andee Beierle had a great experience last weekend at the 30th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals Presented by General Tire.

Beierle is all smiles despite a rough outing in her SuperClean backed Daum Motorsports entry throughout the marquee midget event at Tulsa Expo Raceway.

“Since last year’s Chili Bowl I only raced five times,” she said. “It’s been hard to not have as much seat time and then the transition from wing to nonwing was the challenge of the week. But I’m happy with it. The car was in one piece and the team was happy so there aren’t any complaints.”

Beierle kicked off the competition featuring a record 336 drivers on Friday with her preliminary night at the indoor bullring.

“We got tangled in several wrecks that were out of my control so it made it hard to move forward all week,” she said. “If you get in a wreck in your heat you’re put pretty far back for the rest of the event.”

That’s exactly what happened late in her heat race. Beierle was involved in a flip in turns three and four, which ended the race early with a fourth-place finish.

“A car just hopped my left rear and wrecked right in front of me,” she said. “I drove underneath him, but I got caught in the marbles and flipped trying to avoid him. It took out the entire front end.”

That relegated Beierle to a C Main, where she battled for one of the four transfer positions early before finishing ninth.

The event concluded on Saturday with Beierle in a J Main. Unfortunately, she was involved in another crash that ultimately hampered her ability to transfer.

“I was going to pass a car on the outside,” she said. “As I was moving up he turned 90 degrees and went toward the center of the track. I think three of us were in that crash. I got shuffled to the back and it was really hard to move up after that.”

Her event ended with a ninth-place result.

“I did the best I could,” she said. “Overall it was a great experience. I couldn’t be happier the car is one piece and I had the opportunity to do it. I’m really happy SuperClean supported us. It’s an amazing opportunity to represent such an iconic company and I look forward to our continued partnership once the 2016 season kicks off in a couple of months.”
