Inside Line Promotions – GREENVILLE, Texas (Feb. 19, 2016) – The NOW600 National Micro Series presented by MyRacePass enjoyed a successful 2016 debut on Friday at Superbowl Speedway, where a series-record 92 entries tackled the season opener at the bullring.
A trio of drivers scored their first career NOW600 triumph with Kyle Jones, Marcus Thomas and Jake Nail charging to Victory Lane during the event, which was co-sanctioned with the Inside Line Promotions NOW600 North Texas Region presented by FFE Motorsports.
“We had a couple of hiccups along the way that we will work to smooth out, but overall it was a great start to the season,” NOW600 Series Founder Terry Mattox said.
Jones advanced from third to claim the Stock Non-Wing main event, which locked him, along with 10th starting Steven Shebester, Jacob Lucas and Cody Price, into Saturday’s feature redraw.
Thomas picked up the victory in the Winged ‘A’ Class feature after he started on the outside of the second row. That earned him a spot in Saturday’s feature redraw along with 17th starting Keith Martin, Dean Drake Jr. and Gerald Ray.
Nail, who started on the outside of the front row, claimed the Restricted feature to garner a spot in Saturday’s feature redraw with Ben Silliker, Kaylee Bryson and Blake Scott.
The top four in passing points during Saturday’s heat races at Superbowl Speedway will join the four locked-in competitors in each class for the feature redraw, which will line up the first four rows of each main event.
Front gates open at 3 p.m. Sign in is from 3-4 p.m. with the drivers meeting scheduled for 4 p.m., hot laps at 5 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.
The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 7 to 11. Pit passes are $30 per person.
