U.S. 30 Speedway is gearing up for another competitive year of racing in Columbus.
Platte County’s source of grass roots dirt track racing enters its 31st year of operation with a stacked schedule of competitive weekly programs and special events throughout 2016.
The “Home of Thursday Night Thunder” will continue to run its weekly racing program on Thursdays throughout the summer. The track will feature Sport Compacts, Hobby Stocks, Stock Cars, and Northern Sport Modifieds each week all under the IMCA banner. The fifth class the speedway presents will alternate between IMCA Modifieds, Bragging Rights Limited Late Models, and the Sprint Series of Nebraska 305 Sprint Cars. The track will also host the Summer Storm Dirt Series for Northern Sport Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts two times in 2016.
Among the multiple special events at the track include multiple Sunday Fun Day events as well as the annual Abe Lincoln Memorial. The track will host two races for the MalvernBank.com Super Late Model Racing Series. Other events include the Cornhusker Vintage Nationals and the newest event to the schedule; the King of the Heartland race in early October.
