Gengo Racing traveled to Willis Texas to compete with the Lone star 600's for the fifth annual Nolan Wren Memorial. "With car count nearing forty it wasn't going to be easy to even make the show", said Hunter. Hot laps went great car ran good, that would put us into our heat race where Hunter would start seventh and manage to pass two cars for a strong fifth place finish among Aaron Reutzel, Jacob Lucas and Kevin Battarbee. That placing would put Hunter starting outside pole in the B-Main. Hunter would get a strong start but would clip a tire going into three that would cost him to not transfer into the A-Main.
