SAPULPA, Okla. (May 2, 2016) With the weather keeping Blake Hahn close to home this past weekend, Creek County Speedway became the destination for his addiction in the Jerry McGehee Racing No. 55; racing to a sixth place finish in the Champ Sprint feature event.
Winning his Heat Race, the scales showed the No. 55 to be 10lbs light, disqualifying Hahn and relegating him to the tail of the B-Feature.
“It is what it is. We should have checked before we went out,” commented Hahn on the call.
Winning the B-Feature from the tail, that put Blake starting 16th in the feature. Working through the field, officials signaled the No. 55 off the track under caution with the Left Rear going down.
“It ended up we had a Bleeder sticking so it worked out that the officials saw the tire going low when they did so and we were able to get to the work area to get it fixed. I think if we’d had more laps after that, we could have made a top-three, or at least a top-five out of the deal, but I need to thank Jerry McGehee for letting me race his car. He’s good friend of my whole family, plus he’s great to drive for.”
Back on the road this week, Hahn returns to the cockpit of the Lucas Oil Products No. 52 at the McCarthy Auto Group KC Klassic at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan. on Thursday, May 5 with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, along with the Impact Signs Open Wheel Showdown at Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday, May 7 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo. with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps.
