NCRA Sprint Car Streak On The Line Saturday at DCRP

The NCRA Sprint Cars have been unpredictable in recent times at Dodge City Raceway Park with six different winners atop the 3/8-mile clay oval in Southwest Kansas in the last six events.

That stretch of different winners will be tested on Saturday night when the NCRA/Gomuddy.com NSL 360 Sprint Car series makes its first appearance of the season at DCRP.

Saturday’s card that fires off at 7:30 p.m. also includes DCRP championship chase action in IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars & IMCA Hobby Stocks.

At least four of the previous six NCRA Sprint winners are expected for Saturday night’s action including the most recent victor, Tony Bruce, Jr., who topped last year’s Steve King Memorial.

A native of Liberal, KS, Bruce, Jr., will be aboard the Danny King entry that will sport the familiar No. 88 that King fielded for many years.

Also reaching victory lane at DCRP last year was Michigan native turned Wichita resident Jeremy Campbell, who has a pair of NCRA championships to his credit.

Previous to the 2015 season, six-time series champion C.J. Johnson captured NCRA honors at Dodge City in 2014. The Quinter racer is one of three drivers to post DCRP Sprint Car wins in track title chase action thus far in 2016.

Beginning the streak of six consecutive different winners in 2010 is Goddard’s J.D. Johnson, who most recently enjoyed DCRP victory lane in 2103 URSS competition. Other NCRA winners at DCRP since 2010 include Washington’s Logan Forler in 2012 and Nebraska’s Ryan Roberts in 2011.

While the NCRA/Gomuddy.com NSL 360 Sprint Cars battle it out, valuable championship chase points are on the line as well for the other four divisions in action with Nick Link (IMCA Modifieds), Jeff Kaup (IMCA Sport Modifieds), Tyler Tipton (IMCA Stock Cars) and Cody Davis (IMCA Hobby Stocks) out to early leads.

Tickets to Saturday’s NCRA/Gomuddy.com NSL Sprint Car special at Dodge City Raceway Park are just $20 for adults with children eleven and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Pit passes are $30.
