This Saturday will be the close of the track point championships at Park Jefferson Speedway. After the first full points season of IMCA racing in over 8 years, many of the Park Jefferson point leaders are set. In an exciting addition the Nebraska Modified Lites will be on hand to add to the strong car counts at Park Jefferson, giving Park six classes of racing this weekend.
In the SignMasters IMCA Modifieds, Ricky Stephan is in command with 378 points and will secure the championship by finishing the main event. Bob Moore and Jim Cole are tied with 350 points in 2nd place with Jim Thies and Jason Schneiders rounding out the top five. In the J&J Fitting Stock Cars, Chis Mills has a clear lead and will take the championship by showing up. Travis Barker has second, but the next seven spots are very much up for grabs between Richie Ackerly, Paul Wenzlaff, Aaron Guillaune, Shaun Johnson, Casey Jones and Elijah Zevenbergen. The Schaeffer Oil IMCA Sport Mods have been dominated by Todd Boulware and Karl Brewer this season. Third place is the Mr. Consistent Kirk Beatty with the two Nordquist boys, Kole and Keegan, rounding out the top five. The Fox 620 Hobby Stocks have had great numbers all season long with Rusty Montague taking the top spot with Dave Riley, Aaron Shearn and Gavin Gilbertson all within striking distance. Chris Demara and Jon Androy hold the fifth and sixth spots in what has been an exciting race. The one point battle that holds some promise is the Pedersen Machine Sport Compacts, which see Luke Jackson and Andrew Harris in the top 2 spots. Jackson holds a 10 point lead over Harris, but a mechanical failure could be the opening he needs.

“We are so excited to crown our champions this Saturday. The return to IMCA sanctioning has been fantastic, and we are already working on plans to expand our schedule for more nights of weekly IMCA racing in 2017” stated owner Adam Adamson.

Track championship night will see gates open at 5pm with hot laps at 6:30pm. Saturday is the final $9 Nights promotion with adult tickets just $9 and children 6-16 and seniors 70+ being just $1. For more information, fans can go to www.parkjeff.com or call 712-202-5540.
