On a night of racing that featured the Oklahoma State Championship Race at Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada, the OCRS drivers paid a tribute to one of the icons in sprint and open wheel promoting, Lanny Edwards.
Bookout rocketed the Triple X Chassis, Ti22 Performance, Finish Line Coatings, and Car & Fleet Parts from a 2nd place start in the heat race to win with a green-to-checkered straightaway lead at the line finish.
During the intermission, Bookout parked his sprinter at the flag and passed out checkered flags and cards to the young fans in attendance.
After starting 4th in the "A" Feature, Bookout slowly dropped back to 13th before the track started coming to the setup and his driving, then lap by lap, he picked off cars one by one until he climbed to an 8th place finish before time ran out on further advancement.
