The 2017 schedule is loaded with excitement including the introduction of the Rocky Mountain Sprint Cars. These exiting monsters will visit us at least four times this year and it could be more. Plus we have a full season planned for the NSA 360 Winged Sprint Cars. A total of 25 race events PLUS several practice events and the annual O P Car Show on April 22nd fill the schedule.
Opening with a double header event The Montana Spring Roundup on April 28th and 29th loads of fun to follow.
"We're concentrating on a good, hardcore racing program this year," Electric City Speedway owner Dan Mann said. "We're very serious about our program, and we're planning on focusing hard on the track, our fans and our sponsors."
Last year we experimented with the return of Late Models to Electric City Speedway for one event. In 2017 we have expanded that plan to three Late Model events. The people love them and we love them. More is better.
The speedway rebounded in the final three weeks of 2016, after weather issues caused cancellation of several events which frustrated fans and Racers mid summer.
Mother Nature wasn't very kind to us last year.
Plenty of exciting nights dot the speedway's 2017 schedule, starting with the NSA sprints with a double header May 19th and 20th. 21 sprint cars raced here at the Fall Montana Roundup. They are always exciting and Great Falls is a favorite track for drivers of the earth shaking sprint cars. They always put on a great show.
July 3rd and 4th The speedway will host the 2nd Annual Warriors Rendezvous In Montana, for the IMCA Modifieds. "We have a lot of big nights planned this year, and the 4th of July is always a big night of racing."
In between, the Wissota Late Models will visit on June 9th, July 21st and Aug. 18th. The last regular event for the season will be on August 25th with track championships on Labor Day weekend.
The season wraps up with the Fall Montana Roundup featuring three days of Sprint Cars and IMCA Modifieds. Street Stocks, Super Stocks and Midwest Modifieds will each be featured for one night during the weekend.
The weekly lineup will again include IMCA Modifieds, Wissota Midwest Modifieds, Wissota Street Stocks, and Wissota Super Stocks.
