Park Jefferson Speedway presents the first of 17 nights of sprint car racing at the Sioux City oval and the first of 13 point nights for the championship 360 sprint cars. Opening night will feature the first round of the North vs. South Sprint Car Shootout, sanctioned by the Nebraska 360 Sprint Car Series and the Midwest Sprint Touring Series. Top drivers from across the Dakotas, Nebraska and drivers from as far away as Canada are expected to compete this weekend at Park Jefferson.
“We are really excited to get the winged warriors on the track here at Park. We had a great opening night 2 weeks ago, and I know the local fans are hungry for some 700+ horsepower sprint cars” stated owner Adam Adamson.

One of the picks for the 2017 point championship is 3rd generation driver Carson McCarl. Son of Terry, McCarl will be wheeling the Jeremy Scadden owned #6 car and plans to call Park Jefferson home on Saturday nights this year. Other drivers expected to contend for the weekly point championship will be Brant O’Bannion and Hull, Iowa’s Justin Jacobsma. They will be facing stiff competition this weekend as many of the travelling racers like Jack Dover, Greg Bakker, and more will be on hand for the prestigious shootout prize.
Joining the sprint cars this weekend will be the IMCA weekly series. After an exciting opening night 2 weeks ago, the IMCA classes will continue the point hunt for 2017. The IMCA Sprint Cars won't begin their racing season until May 20th at Park Jefferson.

Gates open Saturday at 5 pm with racing scheduled for 7pm or after the conclusion of hot laps.
For this special event, tickets will be $17 for adults, $5 for children 6-16 and $10 for seniors 70+. Pit passes will be $30. The Budweiser clubhouse will be open and any ticket can be upgraded for $12. For more information go to www.parkjeff.com or call 712-202-5540.
