This Saturday the Park Jefferson hosts its 2nd segment of the Road to the Iron Cup presented by J&J Fitting. This week focuses the spotlight on the very exciting Schaeffer Oil Sport Modifieds. Consistently one of the most exciting classes, the division has been as exciting during the first three weeks of racing this year as ever. Past point champion Todd Boulware has long been the king of the sport mod class, however after parting with his familiar black GRT chassis earlier this year, Boulware has struggled and only sits 6th in points. The other perennial top driver is Vermillion’s Karl “Brew Crew” Brewer. After his opening week win, Brewer was away last weekend and is sitting 10th in points. Replacing them at the top are Hobby Stock graduate Dave Riley, newcomer Nicholas Peters and up and coming Cameron VandeWeerd.

This weekend will see driver compete for an additional $200 in prize money, with the top position getting $350, a random draw of $25 for positions 2-5 and another random draw of $25 for positions 6-24. In addition, every driver will earn a $25 non transferrable coupon toward their Iron Cup Registration.

Joining the Sport Modifieds will be the other 4 IMCA classes as well as the Keizer Wheels Championship Sprint Cars. Gates will open at 5pm with racing at 7pm. Adult tickets are $12, Seniors 70+ are $5 and Children 6-16 are just $2. For more information go to www.parkjeff.com or call 712-202-5540.
