Sun Prairie, WI, May 12--- Season Number Eighty-one for the Mid-State Equipment / Zimbrick Chevrolet of Sun Prairie Badger Midget Racing Series kickoffs in eight days with a opening weekend doubleheader at Sycamore Speedway and Angell Park Speedway.
Saturday night May 20 Badger opens at Sycamore (IL) Speedway site of the 2016 season finale won by Tyler Baran. Also on the event’s schedule will be the track’s regular divisions of stock car racing. The series will also beat the Northern Illinois 1/3-mile clay oval on: June 17; July 22; and August 19.
The following night the first of eleven Sunday Night races for Badger occurs at Angell Park Speedway. The “Sprint Spectacular with Tony Stewart” features Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association (IRA) and The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.
Stewart will compete in the sprint car portion of the event, marking his first driving appearance at the track since July 7, 2002. The Wisconsin Dirt Racing Legends Association will be the third division competing. Grandstand seating opens at 4:30 pm; practice at 6:00 pm; racing to follow.
