26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (May 25th, 2017) – Colton Hardy has been the definition of consistent so far in 2017. Whether in the Sprint Car or the Micro Sprint, Colton Hardy has found himself in the top three at the end of just about every race so far this season. Saturday night at Canyon Speedway Park was no different as Hardy made his fourth start of the year in the Micro division.
Hardy kicked off the night in Heat race action advancing from fifth to battle for the second position before having to settle for third.
Just missing the six-car invert, Hardy lined up seventh for the Feature.
He quickly made his way into the top five and into fourth within the first handful of laps. With passing at a premium, Hardy settled into fourth for the middle portion of the race.
“I didn’t think the track was going to go away that much,” said Hardy. “So I was loose the whole Main Event but still had enough grip to drive past a few cars.”
In the final few laps, Hardy battled for the third position before taking it over coming out of turn two on the white flag lap to earn his third Top 10 in the Micro this year to go along with the five Top 10’s he’s earned in the Sprint Car.
“For the first night out in that car and motor after rebuilding it, it feels pretty good to manage a podium,” he said. “I can’t thank my dad enough for getting the car ready throughout the week. It wouldn’t be possible without him.”
Hardy will be back in the 41 Bandit Racing, Hyper Chassis Micro this weekend for two nights of Non-Wing racing at Canyon Speedway Park on Saturday and Sunday night.
