26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (June 19th, 2017) – Dale Eliason Jr dominated Saturday night’s Power 600 Series Feature Event on the big third mile oval at Canyon Speedway Park scoring his first career win in the 600 class.

“I’ve been wanting to race on the big track again, so when we were driving to the track I knew I needed to have a good finish in my Heat and start up front because it’s hard to pass on the big track,” said Eliason Jr. “When we first got there, I saw that the middle of the track up was slick, so I knew the bottom was where I needed to be.”

Eliason Jr was scheduled to start fifth in Heat 3 but moved up a row to third after another car was unable to make the call. Not having run the big track in a year, it took Eliason Jr a few laps to find the right line.

“I didn’t know at the time what line I should really run,” he explained. “So I was entering high in the middle and coming down low to enter the straightaway low and I saw running that line worked best. We were catching up to second, but ran out of laps.”

The third-place run worked in Eliason Jr’s favor, as he was the last car to make the invert, placing him on the pole for the 20-lap Feature.

After making a gear change, Eliason Jr knew that if he ran his line, he’d be in good shape. The first half of the Feature was plagued by cautions, including a delay due to the lights going out at the track. None of that bothered the Iceman, knowing how good of a car he had on the restarts.

“I knew no one was going to pass me on the restarts because I would always pull away from them,” he said. “When I saw the crossed flags for halfway, I knew I had the race pretty well finished.”

Eliason Jr went on to lead all 20-laps of the Feature to pick up his first career 600 Micro win to go along with his fourth top five and seventh top ten of the season.

“When the white flag came out and then the checkered, that was awesome,” he said. “I have to thank my sponsors, the DeBrular family, Streaker Racing, my parents and everyone else that worked their butts off Saturday night.”

Eliason Jr heads to California for a week of racing starting Saturday with the Budweiser Outlaw Nationals at Plaza Park Raceway followed by the Third Annual California Speedweek.

Dale Eliason Jr would like to thank Affordable Powder Coating, Copper State Bolt & Nut, DOLCRX, Guhl Motors, HJ Tile, Industrial Machinery Services, PMP Chassis, Seros Racing Engines and T & K Repair for their continued support.
