26 Promotions – Visalia, CA – (June 26th, 2017) – Jarrett Martin had a run in the top five end early Saturday night at Plaza Park after contact with another car led to a flat left front tire.

Martin’s night started with two sets of heats after qualifying was canceled due to transponder issues. Mart started the first heat on the outside of the front row and felt good about the car heading into the race.

“After hot laps, I had a lot of confidence in the car,” said Martin. “So, after a couple tries at the start, I ended up taking the lead early. Toward the end, we had a restart with a couple laps to go and I made a mistake inside the car and threw away the Heat win.”

Martin’s second heat saw him start fifth and finish fourth on a track that was mostly single file around the top at that point in the night. The combined passing points from both heats were used to determine the Feature lineup, Martin scored enough points to line up on the outside of the second row.

“We started fourth in the Feature with some pretty fast guys around us,” explained Martin. “We made a few minor changes to the car and I was trying to figure out what I could do to get more out of it. Early on I was running fourth up on the top and got passed for fifth about eight laps in. Another car got into me going for the position and ended our night.”

Martin and his Streaker Racing team will build on the positives from the race as they get ready to run the Non-Wing division at California Speedweek, which kicks off Tuesday at Dixon Speedway before traveling to Delta Speedway on Wednesday, Plaza Park on Friday, and ending at Lemoore Raceway on Sunday.

“Overall the Bud Nationals was a good test and tune for Speedweek,” said Martin. “We built some confidence going forward.”

Jarrett Martin would like to thank Streaker Racing, K Corp, Pace Chassis, MyRacePass, The Race Shack, Paint by Steve, Resolute Performance Contracting, and Bell Helmets for their continued support.
