Schreurs, Bickett and Noteboom pick up wins on Pedersen Machine Night

Pedersen Machine Night saw a cooler temperatures to offset a hot field of 94 cars take to the Park Jefferson black gumbo. After a quick three and a half hours seven winners graced victory lane, including a number of first time winners.

The touring LMSS featuring the stock car bodies of yesteryear at Park Jefferson had an impressive 17 car field. Taking home the top honors was Travis Schreurs who was able to take the top spot of Cory Yeigh, Darrin Korthals and Eric Moser. Korthals, who is the unofficial king of the LMSS, worked all over the track to find a top groove but it was Schreurs who held on. Many drivers were excited to be back at Park Jefferson and plans are already under way to make the August 12th Mark Lloyd Memorial a special one.

In the Keizer Wheels Sprint Cars, it was Ryan Bickett who picked up his inaugural check. Bickett was able to quickly find the fast line on the top around Park Jefferson. Greg Bakker was able to work up to 2nd place on the bottom, but ended up coming in 3rd after Seth Brahmer passed him on the high side.

The SignMasters IMCA Modified division saw 14 competitors try and take the top spot. Jay Noteboom put another notch in the belt between him an Ron Luitjens as he picked up win number 52 for his career at the Union County oval. Noteboom currently sits 2nd in overall feature wins in all divisions at 68, just 5 behind the immortal Joe Kosiski. Bob Moore reassumed the top spot in the division with his strong run to 2nd, and Jason “Speed” Schneiders turned in a strong third place finish.

The IMCA RACESaver Sprints were once again a quick an easy win by the beautiful black and orange 05 of Colin Smith. Smith was able to hold off dual entered Casey Abbas and Jesse Lindberg to take the top spot as well as the point lead.

In the Schaeffer Oil IMCA Sport Modifeds, veteran Rusty Montagne was once again the feature winner. Montange, like Noteboom, is slowly creeping up the all-time win charts at Park Jefferson, and di so at the expense of Todd Boulware and Karl Brewer, the 2016 kings of the division. Montange was the 2016 Hobby Stock champion and this year looks to take the top spot in this division.

In the IMCA Hobby Stocks, Paul Menard put a stop to the Hoffman Train as the 16D was able to cruise to the top spot and keep Andy Hoffman from another victory lane interview. Aaron Shearn now takes the mantle of top point man with his third place finish.

The Fox 620 IMCA Sport Compacts saw Tyler Thompson record another win, holding off Jake Newsom and Luke Jackson. Thompson has been on a tear this year as he pursues an IMCA National Championship.

Park Jefferson is closed this week for the Saturdays in the Park event hosted in Sioux City. Racing will resume on July 8th with Pepsi Night with all seven weekly classes on hand as teams move toward the stretch run of the Park Jefferson Speedway.
