The POWRi Lonestar 600's presented by K & K Earthworks rolls it on up to 281 Speedway in Stephenville, Texas. For night #2 of our double header weekend. Racers making the haul from as far Arizona, Louisiana, Oklahoma & even down by Mexico. 29-600's & 9-restrictors draw in for the night. After driver introductions, they took to the smooth racing surface.
Restrictors out first. Each heat taking it 3 wide. The smiles on these kids faces after, priceless. Restrictor heat winners- Ryder Laplante & Chase Randall.
600's up next. These boys & girls decided it was time to get us on our toes. They amped it up to 4 wide. And at one point, 5 wide. Talk about some racing. Mike Walling would give us a little toe to toe action in turn 4. Somehow keeping his ride planted on all fours after the skit. 600's heat winners- Chase Randall, Trey Burke, Jacob Lucas, & Dustin Davidson.
B-main, to the shoot. Locking in the top 4 to finish out the 24 car field. B-main qualifiers- Matt McDade, Brandon Moeller, Kendall Battarbee & Brad Smith. During intermission, the officials took to the grandstands with free goodies. Shirts, cups, stickers & candy wound in up the crowd to participate in the track's auction.
Restrictor A-main, let's go boys. They set to track & the green is out. Jarret Hjorth, Ryder Laplante & Chase Randall all plunge for the lead. A caution flies. They regroup. Laplante steps out front. Randall in 2nd. Hjorth in 3rd. Both knocking on Laplante's back door! Ryder finds his groove & never looks back. Parks it in victory lane. Capping his weekend as the double header restrictor champion.
All 600's to the hot grid. It's go time. A four wide salute to the fans. Complete with fireworks. The 24 car field is ready. Tanner Dunlap & Dustin Davidson lead them to the green. Caution flies. Turns 1 & 2 collects Colton Corbin, Mike Walling, Anton Hernandez & Jacob Lucas. Corbin retires to the infield. All others to the tail. Dunlap takes off. Only to be caught by Davidson. 3 more cautions fly. The field is changing positions quickly. Davidson leads. Kevin Battarbee on the porch, knocking. Walling is climbing his way back up the field. Hernandez retires off the back stretch. Lucas is on the move. White flag flies & Davidson gets new company at the door. Lucas takes the lead. Only to be sent away by a caution. Green, white, checkers. Lucas gives Davidson a run. Grandstands are roaring. By half a car, Dustin Davidson wheels his 2D into victory lane. Picks up his $750 check & he is off to celebrate!
Dragon Fly Aviation Hard Charger award goes to Matt McDade. Total cars passed-12.
Pulse Racing Innovations EZ tearoff system award goes to Matt McDade, as well.
