Driven Midwest USAC NOW600 National Series Wraps Up Season With Driven Midwest Cup This Weekend at Caney Valley Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (Oct. 16, 2017) – The biggest event on the 2017 schedule is the final one for the Driven Midwest USAC NOW600 National Micro Series presented by MyRacePass, which wraps up this weekend with the Driven Midwest Cup.

Championships, prestige and bonus money is on the line during the tripleheader at Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kan., Friday through Sunday when all three of the premier NOW600 classes – Stock Non-Wing, Winged ‘A’ Class and Restricted ‘A’ Class – along with the NOW600 Sportsman will compete each night.

Friday and Saturday will be standard shows with the top 14 in overall event points following the two preliminary nights locking into Sunday’s first Driven Midwest Cup main event. The remainder of the 20-car field will be determined by a Last Chance Qualifier.

Each class will have three, 12-lap main events with the winner receiving one point, second place two points, third place three points, etc. The driver with the fewest points following the three main events will be crowned the Driven Midwest Cup champion in each class. If a driver in Stock Non-Wing or Winged ‘A’ Class wins all three Cup Mains they will get a $2,000 bonus and any driver who wins all three Restricted ‘A’ Class Cup main events will be given a $1,000 bonus.

Frank Flud holds a 74-point lead over Avery Goodman in the Stock Non-Wing championship standings. Holley Hollan is 104 points out of the lead with Hank Davis two points back and Chris Cochran 122 points behind Flud, who leads the class with seven feature victories and is the only driver with multiple wins.

Flud is also the Winged ‘A’ Class points leader as he owns a 73-point advantage over Daison Pursley in the standings. Davis is 84 points back with Jason McDougal 92 points behind Flud. Goodman rounds out the top five and is 116 points out of the top spot.

Flud has seven triumphs to lead the class. Jeffrey Newell is the only other driver with multiple wins (two).

The closest battle entering the season finale is in the Restricted ‘A’ Class standings as Pursley, a four-time feature winner, has a 52-point lead over six-time winner Ryder Laplante. Kale Drake, who has three victories, is 137 points behind Pursley. Chase Randall is 187 points out of the lead and Dylan Pendergrass is 228 points from first.

Event tickets are $5 for adults on Friday and Sunday and $10 for adults on Saturday. Children ages 12-years-old and younger get in free each night.

The gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday, at 4 p.m. on Saturday and at noon on Sunday. Racing will begin approximately three hours after the gates open each day.

Additionally, there will be a breakfast both Saturday and Sunday morning as well as a dodgeball tournament at noon on Saturday. It will serve as a benefit for Jeromy Bowers.

Saturday is Pink Out Night for breast cancer awareness.

DRIVEN MIDWEST CUP FORMAT –

Friday and Saturday:

Standard NOW600 National Series Format. Drivers will draw for heat race starting spots and passing points will be used to line up each night’s semi’s and main events.

Following Saturday night’s program, the top 14 in event points from both Friday and Saturday will be locked into the Sunday’s Cup for the Stock Non-Wing, Winged A-Class and Restricted ‘A’ Class divisions.

Drivers sitting in position No. 15 to No. 30 in event points will run in Sunday afternoons LCQ with the top 6 transferring into the Cup. The LCQ will be 10 laps and will run before the first Cup main.

Sunday:

LCQ’s for the Stock Non-Wing, Winged A-Class and Restricted ‘A’ Class will be first up after hot laps. The top 6 in the LCQ will transfer to the Cup.

Driven Midwest Cup Main 1: The Top 14 drivers that are locked into the Cup mains will draw for their starting spots in the first Cup main. The six drivers that transferred into the Cup from the LCQ will be lined up straight up on the LCQ finish.

Driven Midwest Cup Main 2: Passing points from Cup Main No. 1 will be tallied with the top 8 in passing points being inverted and drivers ninth through 20th being lined up straight up off their passing points from Cup Main No. 1.

Driven Midwest Cup Main 3: Passing points from both Cup Main No. 1 and No. 2 will be totaled together and drivers will be lined straight up off their combined passing points from the previous two Cup mains.

Each Driven Midwest Cup main event will be 12 laps in distance or 15 minutes for all three classes.

DRIVEN MIDWEST CUP POINTS –

The winner is determined via overall scores from the three Cup mains. Points are rewarded Olympic-style, meaning a win gets one point, second gets two points, etc.

The driver with the lowest amount of points after the third Driven Midwest Cup main will be crowned champion of the Driven Midwest Cup.

If a driver in Stock Non-Wing wins all three Cup mains they will get a $2,000 bonus!

If a driver in Winged A-Class wins all three Cup mains they will get a $2,000 bonus!

If a driver in Restricted ‘A’ Class wins all three Cup mains they will get a $1,000 bonus!
