Inaugural Sunshine State Midget Challenge Brings Field of Heavy-hitters

Belleville, IL – With a week away from the rumble of POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League engines at Bubba Raceway Park for the Inaugural Sunshine State Midget Challenge, the entry list continues to grow daily. Newly added drivers include POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League regular, Jake Neuman, 2012 and 2017 POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League champion, Joe B. Miller, midget standout, Tanner Thorson, and young-gun Brayton Lynch.

Neuman, with one POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League victory to his credit coming in 2016, will be one of two Jim Neuman entries. Neuman placed third in 2017 POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League standings. The other will be 2012 and 2017 POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League champion, Joe B. Miller.

The versatile Miller is a threat in just about every division he enters, with experience in three POWRi divisions, the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League, POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League, and the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint Car League. Also, look for Miller to defend his 2017 POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League championship throughout 2018.

Midget standout Tanner Thorson will debut his new team outdoors at the Inaugural Sunshine State Midget Challenge, piloting the Dooling Hayward Motorsports/RCR entry. With 16 total career victories in POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League competition, four came in 2017 for the driver out of Minden, Nevada. Brayton Lynch is also set to enter the Inaugural Sunshine State Midget Challenge with a Rusty Kunz Racing entry. Both drivers will utilize veteran crew chief Rusty Kunz as head mechanic throughout 2018.
